WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes left the arena to accompany Randy Orton to a local medical facility after the latter was taken out by Kevin Owens. However, the Undisputed WWE Champion returned to the squared circle after the show went off the air, leaving his friend and 14-time world champion at the hospital.

On the November 8 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens got into another brawl, which did not end well for The Viper. Despite the officials trying to separate the two, the brawl continued till The Prizefighter hit the veteran with a Piledriver. Orton had to be stretchered out of the arena, with Rhodes and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis helping out.

However, after SmackDown went off the air, The American Nightmare entered the squared circle to compete in a dark match. He teamed up with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn to defeat the team of Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, and Ludwig Kaiser in a Six-Man Tag Team contest. An Instagram user recently shared a picture of Cody Rhodes in the ring and also called him a "fraud" for leaving Orton alone at the hospital.

Randy Orton tried to resolve the issue between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens was not amused with Cody Rhodes joining forces with Roman Reigns to face The Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa. At WWE Bad Blood, KO attacked The American Nightmare in the parking lot.

The following week, Randy Orton tried to calm things between the two former friends. However, that did not end well for The Apex Predator, as he was also taken out backstage by the former Universal Champion. It led to the 44-year-old talking Triple H into booking a match with Owens.

The two SmackDown Superstars were scheduled to lock horns in a one-on-one contest at WWE Crown Jewel. However, Kevin Owens had other ideas as he attacked Orton before the match could even start. The bout had to be called off as the two former allies kept brawling until KO dove into his opponent lying on multiple tables.

Considering his history with Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes might look to avenge his former Legacy stablemate. It will be interesting to see if Owens can make a case for the Undisputed WWE Championship and defeat Rhodes to win his first singles title in seven years.
