A WWE Hall of Famer has revealed the details of the time when he was prepared for a backstage fight with The Undertaker after one of their matches. Bully Ray said after his bout with The Phenom went slightly off-track due to a chair shot, he thought the latter would not spare him after they went to the back.

It's no secret The Deadman is one of the most respected yet feared performers in pro wrestling history. During his decades-spanning career in WWE, The Undertaker has not only been involved in many memorable matches but also certain backstage incidents that are just as intriguing as his on-screen work.

Bully Ray shared one such incident on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast. The WWE veteran disclosed that after he accidentally busted open The Phenom's head with a chair shot during a match, he was prepared to face the latter's wrath backstage. Ray revealed that he was ready to fight 'Taker for real.

“I thought I was done. When I got back to the locker room, I was ready to fight The Undertaker — ready to fight him. ‘Listen, I’m gonna get my a** handed to me but if I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die with my boots on.'” (H/T - WrestlingInc)

Considering he had an intimidating aura surrounding him, it's no surprise wrestlers back in the day were fearful of getting into trouble with The Undertaker.

The Undertaker sat down with Bully Ray to give him a valuable lesson

Furthermore, Bully Ray revealed that later when he sat down with The Undertaker, he gave him a valuable lesson that has stayed with him to this date. Ray disclosed The Phenom told him that being reckless inside the ring could deteriorate someone's credibility and make people apprehensive about working with them.

“[Undertaker] said, ‘Bubba, sit down.’ He said, ‘Bubba, in this industry, you don’t want to get a reputation of being reckless or that you can hurt people. What you did tonight was dangerous. You have to make sure you never do what you did tonight again. People won’t want to work with you and if people don’t want to work with you, you can’t make money. And if you can’t make money, you’re no good to the business.'”

Bully Ray added that many years down the line when Matt Cardona accidentally injured his nose during their match, he handled the situation with grace and doled out the same advice 'Taker gave him.
