As WWE and its fans get used to Roman Reigns' absence, popular former world champion Kurt Angle has revealed why the Samaon star stood a good chance if they engaged in a shoot fight.

Considered one of the toughest men in pro wrestling history, Kurt Angle could genuinely defeat anybody in a fight, thanks to his amateur wrestling background. Physically, few pro wrestling athletes have been as gifted as Kurt Angle, who could outwork most of his peers in his prime.

During a rare episode of his podcast, Kurt Angle was asked about wrestlers who could legitimately take him on in an actual fight. Kurt Angle named a few legendary stars with whom he shared the ring, including The Undertaker, Steve Austin, and Brock Lesnar, calling them "bada**es."

Angle believed Roman Reigns also looked strong enough to give him a formidable challenge if they ended up in an unscripted brawl. The WWE Hall of Famer even explained why, as you can view below:

"Listen, alright. There are a lot of wrestlers who are bada**es. Undertaker is one, Brock Lesnar is another. Stone Cold is a tough son of a gun. The Rock, believe it or not, he is a bada** too. But Roman Reigns, he has to be a tough son of a bi***! He is Samoan. He played football and he is a WWE Champion that held the title for the longest reign in 25 years. Roman, you could tell that he is a real bada**. I would say Roman. Yep, I think Roman would give me a run for my money [in a shoot fight]," said Angle.F[From 24:45]

Roman Reigns recently made a big decision

Heading into WWE Draft 2024, Roman Reigns was advertised as part of the company's graphics, leading many to believe his status could be revealed on SmackDown.

Before the latest episode of the blue brand, however, it was revealed that Roman Reigns had voluntarily withdrawn from the draft. Paul Heyman later delved deeper into the reasoning behind Reigns' decision and seemingly confirmed that the former world champion won't be returning anytime soon.

Reigns remains on an indefinite hiatus as The Bloodline story moves along, with Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga being the main characters in another fascinating chapter of a highly acclaimed wrestling storyline.

Whenever he does come back, Reigns will undoubtedly move the needle and influence the WWE product in a way that can only be done by a handful of superstars.
