WWE RAW Superstar comments on potential war between brands

Will the brand warfare return on WWE TV?
Will the brand warfare return on WWE TV?

WWE's weekly shows competed at one point, so much so that each brand had its top stars and programs. This was especially the case in the early and mid-2000s decade, notably with Triple H and Brock Lesnar, or John Cena and Batista, representing RAW and SmackDown, respectively, for many years.

The company even utilized the competition between the two brands for a remarkable Survivor Series Elimination match in the 2005 edition. While in the later years, the freshness of the narrative may have faded, current RAW Superstar Bronson Reed hopes the brands compete once again fiercely.

Speaking on the Out of Character podcast, Bronson Reed revealed that he did feel there was something missing in him during his time in NXT. However, now that he is on the main roster, he hopes to bring the red brand to the number-one spot of weekly television:

"I'm a very competitive guy, so, wherever I'm wrestling at the moment, whichever team I'm with, that's what I back the most," Bronson began. "Now that I'm on Monday Night Raw and I'm staying on Raw, I want it to be the best brand possible," he said. "I think, sort of, 2003, 2004, you got that bit of competition between Raw and SmackDown, and I hope now that we are getting the brand split the same thing happens. I want to have Monday Night Raw be the 'A' brand." [25:02-25:34]

Bronson Reed defeated Ricochet in the latest episode of RAW and even wrestled a standout slobber knocker against Bobby Lashley prior to the draft.

Bronson Reed reveals match against former WWE Champion was thrown together

Following WrestleMania 39, Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley clashed on the April 10, 2023, episode of Monday Night RAW.

Despite the contest ending in a double countout, the duo stole the show, and the bout received a fantastic reception from the audience and the WWE Universe all over the world. The 34-year-old Aussie recalled how the match happened:

"That night was a crazy night, to say the least. We had some travel problems, certain superstars couldn't get to the venue on time from across the other side of the country, so, that match sort of got thrown together, at the same time I was recovering from the flu, and I was like, 'I don't even know if I can get out there and do this.'" However, both stars tore the roof down and got fans invested in a PLE match. Sadly, the bout never happened.

After competing in a triple threat match at WWE Backlash for the US title against Austin Theory, the Lashely-Reed feud fizzled out. The All Mighty moved to the blue brand following the draft, and Reed remained on the Monday Night show.
