A former champion abandoned a match on WWE NXT this week and walked away. The person in question is Tony D'Angelo, who wrestled TNA star Hammerstone during the show.

Hammerstone was revealed as Oba Femi's mystery opponent last week on WWE NXT. The Don had paid him to fight the North American Champion, but he lost the bout. Tony D'Angelo confronted the TNA star backstage this week, as he wasn't happy that the latter failed to get the job done. Tony said he would deal with Hammerstone, and they had a match.

During the bout, Tony D'Angelo hit the big man with a few strikes in the corner, but he was taken down with a clothesline. Tony locked Hammerstone in a submission hold, but the latter escaped. Oba Femi was watching the match backstage. The Don slammed his opponent with two belly-to-belly suplexes and a spinebuster.

Hammerstone planted Tony with an overhead belly-to-belly, and the former WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champion rolled to the floor. He refused to return to the ring, and the referee counted him out.

Hammerstone won the bout via countout. Tony D might have lost his confidence because his methods stopped working.
