Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman recently criticized WWE's booking of a top SmackDown Superstar. He claimed the company's creative team, led by CCO Triple H, treated the mentioned competitor like a C or D player despite him being an A-list talent.
At SummerSlam, LA Knight beat Logan Paul to capture the United States Championship. The Megastar held the title for 118 days before dropping it to Shinsuke Nakamura last Saturday at Survivor Series: WarGames. On the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, Coachman disclosed that he did not like how the 42-year-old lost the title.
The former Interim RAW General Manager stated that Knight was an A-list talent but was almost being treated by WWE Creative like a C or D player:
"Marcus says, 'LA Knight is in a tough spot it seems.' It really is, Tommy. He is a, to me, he has A-list talent but with the way everything's falling out right now, he's almost being treated like a C or D player," he said. [35:53 - 36:08]
The WWE veteran thinks LA Knight was pi**ed off after dropping the title
On a previous episode of Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Jonathan Coachman also discussed LA Knight's defeat by Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames.
The WWE veteran predicted that The Megastar was "pi**ed off" by the creative decision to take the United States Championship off him:
"I guarantee he is pi**ed off tonight. He's like, 'Man, as we head into the biggest year in the history of the company, he's losing his title four weeks before that happens.' So, he's gonna be a forgotten guy. That's just the way that it works. When Netflix starts and SmackDown starts on USA, LA Knight will not be a big part of the plans and that sucks because I think he should be a big part. I love that guy," he said.
It will be interesting to see if Knight continues his program with Nakamura or moves on to other storylines.
