Gunther made his return to RAW on the latest episode of the show after losing his Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania XL. He was involved in an in-ring segment with New Day, and they mocked him for losing the title. It didn't stop there, as Xavier Woods continued firing shots at him on social media.
The Ring General surprised fans on RAW by thanking Sami Zayn, stating that the latter lifted the weight off his shoulders, as he no longer has a target on his back. He then announced that he'd participate in the King of the Ring tournament. The Imperium leader added that if he wins, he'll be able to challenge for any title of his choosing.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day then showed up and made fun of Gunther for losing the Intercontinental Championship by asking him where his title was. Not long after the segment, Woods doubled down and fired another shot at The Ring General on X.
Xavier Woods has won the King of the Ring tournament before. It'll be interesting to see whether Gunther will do the same this year.
