WWE veteran thinks there’s one important thing wrestling does (Exclusive)

A WWE veteran highlighted the one important thing that wrestling does.

Dutch Mantell has been a wrestling veteran for many years now. He has competed in some of the best promotions around the world and has gained a vast understanding of the wrestling business. Given his experience in the industry, few people are able to understand what wrestling is all about as much as Mantell.

Speaking on the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell narrated a story that Jerry Jerret once told which explains what wrestling is all about in a nutshell.

“Jerry Jarrett used to say this all the time. ‘If you make it personal, the people will buy into it.' And he, he told me one time, he said, ‘You know, what wrestling is Dutch?’ I know it's one of those never ending conversations going down to this never ending trip to never ending Kentucky or wherever, he said, ‘If you're walking down the street and I may have told you this before, but all of a sudden when you get to the street corner and you look this way and you look that way you see two guys in a fight right down there,'" narrated Mantell.

He continued:

"'Well, you're gonna stand there and watch it a second see how it ends. Okay, and then they fight and then then one takes off or something else happens, but the fights over, then you start walking. Now you're thinking hmm I wonder what that was about. But, and that's what wrestling is. They let you know what it's about before the fight happens. Now they got you.' That's a simple way to describe it. It really is. But that's exactly what it is,” he said. [3:20 - 4:29]

Dutch Mantell says that Sami Zayn's wife should be paid by WWE for a unique reason

Sami Zayn's wife has been a huge supporter of him. She is always seen sitting at ringside for his matches, especially in Canada.

She was present when Sami faced Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber last year in Canada, and she was present on WWE RAW last week as well. She even appeared for WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

During a recent episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the wrestling veteran stated that she should be compensated by WWE for being a staple at ringside.

"His wife was there. And we're used to seeing her. When he wrestled, who did he wrestle? Roman? In Montreal?.... They've seen his wife on TV before. So she's become like a little staple there at ringside. Hope they get her a check for this. His kids are out there. He went and kissed his wife, hugged her, 'Oh honey, I love you.' And it was very touchy really," quipped Mantell. [From 1:10 - 1:42]

It will be interesting to see if Sami's wife will also play a part in his current storyline with Chad Gable.
