Xavier Woods has featured prominently on WWE RAW in recent weeks. Legendary wrestling personality Teddy Long is a fan of the New Day member but thinks he needs to make small adjustments to his performance.
Woods has worked for WWE since 2010. On the September 30 episode of RAW, the 38-year-old secured a big win over Rey Mysterio after accidentally removing his opponent's mask.
Long appeared on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine alongside host Mac Davis. The WWE Hall of Famer gave Woods some advice on pacing and how he sells offense from in-ring rivals:
"Xavier, great guy, really like him," Long said. "I think he just needs to slow down just a little bit. He kinda oversells a little bit, for me, you know what I mean? But relax, Xavier, it's gonna be all right, playa. But, other than that, two great, outstanding people, man, Xavier and Kofi [Kingston]." [3:37 – 3:58]

Teddy Long on Xavier Woods' tag team partner Kofi Kingston
Over the last few weeks, it has been widely speculated that Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods could turn heel on RAW. The two men have been allies since forming The New Day with Big E in 2014.
Teddy Long met Kingston for the first time in the mid-2000s and knew back then he was destined to become a star:
"I remember Kofi when he first broke in, he came down to Deep South Wrestling when Deep South was running. He was part of that group. I met Kofi down there and had a chance to talk to him. I saw it then when I saw him way back then. And he'll tell you this, ask Kofi, I told him, I said, 'Man, you're gonna be okay. You got it. Just slow down, take your time, and listen and I think you'll be okay.' He also came back and thanked me for that. He didn't never forget about it." [3:08 – 3:36]
On October 7, Xavier Woods will challenge Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship on RAW. The opportunity had initially been offered to Kingston but he wanted Woods to receive a title shot instead.
