Nick Aldis to punish historic WWE champion immediately after coronation? Consequences of major interference explored

Nick Aldis has been busy with many storylines on SmackDown ahead of the final two premium live events of 2024: Survivor Series: WarGames (November 30) and Saturday Night's Main Event (December 14).

One of those storylines is the newly-introduced Women's United States Championship and the tournament that will crown the historic inaugural champion two weeks from now. One of the contenders for the title is Chelsea Green, who will face Bayley in the tournament's semi-finals. Green could upset The Role Model and move to the Finals.

If this happens, she will have a golden opportunity to make history, and she could do it with some help from her tag team partner, Piper Niven. She could show up and interfere in the match to let Chelsea Green make history and become the inaugural Women's United States Champion.

Nick Aldis, though, may not like that development and punish Chelsea Green for winning the title through Piper Niven's interference. The SmackDown GM could strip Green off the title to restore the legacy of the newly introduced championship, as it would hurt its prestige if the first-ever champion was crowned because of outside interference.

The other scenario is for Aldis to have Chelsea Green defend her title right away in a Gauntlet Match, which would seriously jeopardize her chances of retaining the championship.

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven want Nick Aldis to give them a shot at the Women's Tag Team Titles

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have failed to dethrone the reigning Women's Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. But, with Cargill out with an injury, Belair could be forced to vacate the titles.

On that occasion, a tournament could be announced to determine the new champions, with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven participating.

In an interview with Gorilla Position, the duo said they were ready to become champions again and wanted Nick Aldis to give them a title shot:

"I think we’re gonna stick together, we’re gonna become a two-time and three-time tag team champ, and then we’ll go on, and I think we’ll just clean house. Then we’ll win the Women’s World Championship. It’ll be our [title]," they said. [h/t Fightful]

With that in mind, this Friday on SmackDown, Aldis could announce what is next for the Women's Tag Team Titles.
