NJPW News: Cody Rhodes' first opponent revealed

Cody Rhodes will debut at Wrestle Kingdom 11

Kenny Omega introduced Cody Rhodes as the newest member of the Bullet Club earlier this week at the NJPW World Tag League Finals. After briefly teasing that the new member would be none other than Ryback, he announced that Cody Rhodes would be the newest member of the Bullet Club and that they had broken the bank to sign him. Rhodes’ identity was revealed through a vignette that seriously hyped up Rhodes’ impending arrival in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Omega promised that ‘The American Nightmare’ would help the Bullet Club in their global takeover.

Rhodes left WWE earlier this year along with his wife Brandi Rhodes, citing creative differences amongst other issues. He has since wrestled for TNA where he appears with his wife by his side and also recently debuted in ROH at Final Battle 2016 earlier this month when he turned heel during his match with Jay Lethal. Rhodes is now set to make his debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling early next year at NJPW’s biggest show of the year at Wrestle Kingdom 11 on January 4th, 2017. His opponent on the night will be another former WWE Superstar - Juice Robinson,

Robinson appeared in NXT as the eco-warrior CJ Parker in NXT from 2012 to 2015 before leaving the WWE after requesting his release. He has since reinvented himself in New Japan under the name Juice Robinson.

Rhodes will be the latest in a long line of new additions to the Bullet Club this year which have included Adam Cole, Hangman Page, Tanga Roa and the former Captain New Japan who’s now known as Bone Soldier.
