#3. Bullet Club (Hangman Page and Marty Scurll) vs Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kushida
This was another fun tag team match where heavyweights and junior heavyweights paired up with each other and with the upcoming G1 Climax showdown between Page and Tanahashi, we also had the chance of witnessing a little teaser of things to come.
Page and Scurll initially got the upper hand when they teamed up on Kushida and targeted him with several superkicks and it eventually came down to the ‘Time Splitter’ and ‘The Hangman’, as the latter connected with The Rite of Passage to pick up the win for The Bullet Club.
Scurll and Page definitely have an awesome chemistry with each other as a tag team and this was certainly a very important with for both men.
Result: Bullet Club def. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kushida
#4. Hirooki Goto vs Jeff Cobb- Never Openweight Championship
The first title match of the evening and the first singles match of the evening saw NJPW newcomer Jeff Cobb challenging the new Never Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto for his championship belt. Cobb, in particular, has been thoroughly impressive in NJPW so far and his effort in this championship match against veteran Hirooki Goto was no less than valiant as well.
Cobb dominated this contest in the opening stages of it and had the upper-hand for the most part, however, the resilient Goto eventually rallied back and connected with the ushigoroshi, which was followed up by the GTR for the win.
Result: Hirooki Goto def. Jeff Cobb to retain the Never Openweight Championship
