What’s the story?

Earlier today, former WWE tag team and current FEW Tag Team Champions Cryme Tyme, took to his official Instagram account to mock six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, The Young Bucks.

In case you didn’t know…

Cryme Tyme is a current tag team that consists of JTG and Shad Gaspard. The duo first started wrestling under the WWE banner in the company’s developmental territory, OVW, in 2006, and were a part of WWE for well over seven years.

However, Cryme Tyme was first fired by the company in 2007, after just one year in the main-roster before eventually being re-signed by the company in 2008.

During their WWE stint, Cryme Tyme never managed to win the WWE Tag Team Titles but were two-time OVW Tag Team Champions.

The heart of the matter

On his recent Instagram post, JTG claimed that The Young Bucks have been ignoring the Cryme Tyme for a while now as they looked to get their attention by mocking the tag team and their faction, Bullet Club.

JTG also took shots at Matt and Nick by stating that the former ROH Champions claim to be the best tag team in wrestling, but they still haven't stepped into the ring with Cryme Tyme.

Hours later, Shad Gaspard also posted on his Instagram about Cryme Tyme's interest in wrestling at this year’s NJPW World Tag League. Shad stated that a World Tag League without Cryme Tyme is incomplete and that the duo want a piece of the Killer Elite Squad, Young Bucks and the Guerillas of Destiny as well.

He ended his statement by claiming that no club or tag team is going to stop them if they step foot in Japan.

What’s next?

We are yet to hear a response from Matt and Nick. The Bucks will now focus on their upcoming Tokyo Dome match against Roppongi 3K for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles and will look to become seven-time champions.

As for Cryme Tyme, it’ll be interesting to see if NJPW decides to give them a trial, but for the time being, they continue to wrestle for various independent promotions.

Author’s Take

I think Cryme Tyme mocking Young Bucks was hilarious but I don’t think that New Japan Pro Wrestling is going to offer JTG and Shad with a contract anytime soon. However, the match between Cryme Tyme and Young Bucks remains a possibility for an independent show in the future.
