New Japan Pro Wrestling holds the G1 Climax tournament every summer. For one month, wrestlers get in the squared circle to earn a place in the winner-take-all final.
Wrestlers are divided into two groups and are awarded points (two for a win, one for a draw and ,obviously, zero for a loss) with the winners of the two groups taking on one another in the final.
The winner gets an IWGP Heavyweight Title shot at Wrestle Kingdom 11 in January.
NJPW announced the list of competitors and the blocks they’d been divided into yesterday, as the wrestling world awaits the beginning of the 2016 G1 Climax Tournament.
