NXT TakeOver: New Orleans Match Predictions

The Show takes place on April 7th

This upcoming weekend is WrestleMania and so much is going on during it. Friday is the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and on Sunday is WrestleMania itself. But in between that is NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

Without a doubt the biggest NXT PPV the brand holds all year and this year's card is an exciting one. Five matches have been confirmed for the event.

Four title matches are taking place and one of them is making its debut. That being the North American Championship. There's also a big grudge match between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

Let's make our predictions and see who should walk out the winners at the end of the night.

#5 Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa

E
Unsanctioned Match

This match between these two is one of the most anticipated matches the card has and it should be. Since the pair broke up last May, this has been one of the most exciting feuds to watch every week.

Expect this match to have a very strong storytelling aspect attached to it. Gargano should ultimately get the win here as the good guys always get the win in the end.

But having Ciampa win wouldn't be a major shock as he has nailed his heel role perfectly. This could go either way and we are all going to enjoy it.

Prediction: Johnny Gargano

#4 North American Championship Ladder Match

E
The new Title debuts in a Ladder Match

Much like the encounter between Gargano and Ciampa, the debut of the brand new North American Championship is something else to look forward to at the event. The mid-card of the brand finally gets a championship.

With the Ladder match aspect added to the match and with those involved, it will end up being one of the matches of the weekend. EC3, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, Lars Sullivan and Killian Dain are the Superstars who are going to compete to become the inaugural North American Champion.

There are three likely winners for this match, namely, EC3, Adam Cole, and Ricochet. Cole is already involved in a match so there's a chance he won't be winning this one. Both EC3 and Ricochet are new to NXT, but EC3 has the main event status advantage. So, it is likely he will be walking out as the first-ever North American Champion.

Prediction: EC3

#3 NXT Tag Team Championship/Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Trophy

Enter captio
Triple Threat Tag Match for both the titles and the Trophy

NXT has been holding the annual Dusty Rhodes Memorial tournament to crown the yearly winner. But this year, there is a bonus as the winner of the match will be getting to take the Tag Team Titles home.

Due to injury, Adam Cole will be replacing Bobby Fish as Cole will be teaming with Kyle O'Reilly. The duo will be facing the Authors of Pain and the team of Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne.

This match will be exciting as the Tag division in NXT has never disappointed in the past. But this match has a clear winner and it would be a surprise if it doesn't happen. Cole and O'Reilly should win the titles as it makes sense for them to.

There is a high chance that AOP will be getting the call-up to the main roster and the team of Strong and Dunne are much better as singles competitors than a team.

Prediction: Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly

#2 NXT Women's Championship

En
A rematch of TakeOver: Philadelphia

The NXT Women's Championship match is the only rematch to take place at the event. The last time these two faced off, Ember Moon came out the winner and expect the same to happen here.

Baszler is still too new to not only NXT but also wrestling as a whole and she isn't ready to carry the division just yet. Moon can do much more in her title run and the NXT Women's division needs the star power in it.

If WWE decides to go their 50/50 booking method, then expect a new champion. But more can be done with these two instead of a title change. WWE could possibly bring someone new into the title picture along with them.

Prediction: Ember Moon

#1 NXT Championship

E
The highly anticipated Main Event

Unlike the Women's Championship, expect a title change in this match. This feud between Andrade 'Cian' Almas and Aleister Black has been enjoyable to watch in recent weeks, but it's time for a title change.

Going forward, it would make sense for Black to win the title. Almas does everything that he can to beg his way back to a title match later on as he's the heel. We can't really see Black being the begging type.

Expect Zelina Vega and Candice Lerae to get involved and have their own battle on the outside. Why those two don't have a match of their own is questionable, but expect them to fight during the match.

Almas has a lot of momentum coming off of his five-star match with Johnny Gargano at Takeover Philadelphia, but expect a title change here.

Prediction: Aleister Black
