This will be a historic event for all of United Kingdom wrestling.
This will be a historic event for all of United Kingdom wrestling.

NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool will take place this Saturday on January 12, 2019, at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, and will be live on the WWE Network and will start at a special time at 2 PM in the Eastern Time Zone.

The match card will feature Jordan Devlin against Travis Banks, a no disqualification match with Eddie Dennis and Dave Mastiff, a historic match between Moustache Mountain & the Grizzled Young Veterans in a match for the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Championship, an NXT UK Women's Championship match between champion Rhea Ripley & Toni Storm, and a match for the NXT UK Championship between Pete Dunne and Joe Coffey.

This will be the first-ever NXT UK Takeover event ever and there will likely be several great matches that help to define British wrestling. This event can make or break the entire NXT UK brand and it will almost definitely help to "make" the NXT UK brand.

#5 Jordan Devlin vs Travis Banks

This match has the potential to steal the entire show.
This match has the potential to steal the entire show.

Jordan Devlin & Travis Banks recently started a rivalry with each other. Jordan Devlin criticized Travis Bank's lack of respect for his country. Travis Banks then responded and the two have been getting involved in several brawls. Both superstars have recently gotten several victories and both neede some momentum. Travis Banks recently defeated Tyson T-Bone while Jordan Devlin got a victory over a local competitor.

After Jordan Devlin's match, Travis Banks confronted him and challenged him to a match. He was then attacked by Jordan Devlin after his match with Tyson T-Bone and after the two finished up their brawl, a match between the two superstars was made official.

Jordan Devlin has been gaining a large amount of momentum with several victories over Ligero, Kenny Williams, Tucker, and even challenged Pete Dunne for the NXT UK Championship. However, Travis Banks is still in need of momentum on NXT UK and as a result of that, it will be Travis Banks that gets the win.

Final Prediction: Travis Banks defeats Jordan Devlin via pinfall with the Slice of Heaven. He is confronted by WALTER after the match.

#4 No Disqualification Match: Dave Mastiff vs Eddie Dennis

This match is set to end in a brutal fashion.
This match is set to end in a brutal fashion.

Dave Mastiff defeated Eddie Dennis in the first match the two superstars had. Eddie Dennis then attacked Dave Mastiff backstage. Since then, the two had been involved in several brawls before the two had another match that ended in a double disqualification. The two continued to fight until it was announced that the two would face off at NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool in a no disqualification match.

Because Dave Mastiff won the last match, it only seems right that Eddie Dennis manages to get the victory here tonight. There is a lot of money in a feud between Eddie Dennis and Pete Dunne and as a result of that, Dave Mastiff's undefeated streak should end with Eddie Dennis being the first superstar to defeat him.

Final Prediction: Eddie Dennis defeats Dave Mastiff via pinfall with the Neck Stop Driver.

#3 Inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Championship Match: Moustache Mountain vs The Grizzled Young Veterans

This is the last of the 3 NXT UK Championships that need to be introduced.
This is the last of the 3 NXT UK Championships that need to be introduced.

This match will determine who will become inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Grizzled Young Veterans have gained a lot of momentum recently with victories over Amir Jordan & Kenny Williams and Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster. However, Moustache Mountain is the more experienced team and has gained several victories over the past few months.

Trent and Bate are the best tag team in NXT UK and as a result of that, they should be NXT UK Tag Team Champions. As champions, they can face off with the likes of Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel and Gallus along with Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster while also redefining tag team wrestling.

Final Predictions: Moustache Mountain defeats Grizzled Young Veterans via pinfall with the Torture Rack/Diving Knee Drop Combination.

#2 NXT UK Women's Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs Toni Storm

Toni Storm will have her second chance at the NXT UK Women's Championship.
Toni Storm will have her second chance at the NXT UK Women's Championship.

Rhea Ripley defeated Toni Storm in the finals of the NXT UK Women's Championship tournament to become the first ever NXT UK Women's Champion. Since then, Toni Storm has won the 2018 Mae Young Classic and has defeated the likes of Charlie Morgan and Deonna Purrazzo.

Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley has had a dominant reign as champion and has defeated the likes of Candy Floss, Isla Dawn, and most recently Deonna Purrazzo. This will be Rhea Rupley's toughest test to date as champion.

Toni Storm has the best chance at becoming NXT UK Women's Champion and has a chance of becoming champion at NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool. However, Rhea Ripley will likely remain as champion.

Final Prediction: Rhea Ripley defeats Toni Storm via pinfall with the Riptide.

#1 NXT United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne (c) vs Joe Coffey

This will be Pete Dunne's third ever NXT Takeover match.
This will be Pete Dunne's third ever NXT Takeover match.

Pete Dunne has been champion for more than 600 days and has defended his title against the likes of Tyler Bate, Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, Kyle O' Reilly, Zack Gibson, Wolfgang, Ricochet, Noam Dar, Mark Andrews, Danny Burch, and Jordan Devlin. However, he may be facing his toughest task in Joe Coffey.

Joe Coffey has been gaining a lot of momentum and as a result of that, he has a really good chance of becoming the NXT UK Champion. This would make sense because, with the backup of Gallus, Joe Coffey could look like a really intimidating champion.

However, Pete Dunne has been a great champion and he should arguably lose the UK Championship to Eddie Dennis. Therefore, the champion must retain his championship.

Final Prediction: Pete Dunne defeats Joe Coffey via pinfall with the Bitter End to retain the UK Championship.
