Official poster and synopsis for upcoming Dean Ambrose WWE Studios movie unveiled

Dean Ambrose stars in 12 Rounds Lockdown

As noted, WWE star Dean Ambrose will be starring in the upcoming WWE Studios produced movie “Lockdown.” The movie is actually part of the “12 Rounds” series, and will officially be titled “12 Rounds 3: Lockdown.” The movie will be released in select theaters and OnDemand on September 11th.

Despite coming out in just a couple of months, Dean Ambrose's debut as an action star still doesn't have a trailer, but now it has a poster that answers one of the questions a lot of fans had about Lockdown- the WWE Studios/Lionsgate joint venture that pulled “The Lunatic Fringe” away from Raw and Smackdown at the peak of his storyline with Seth Rollins last year.

Below is the updated synopsis and poster from WWE:

"Ambrose plays Shaw, a detective that returns to active duty after the death of his partner. When he uncovers evidence linking his fellow officers to a murder, they frame him for a homicide he didn't commit. Trapped in his own precinct, Shaw will do whatever it takes to expose the dirty cops and clear his name. With twelve rounds in the clip and one shot at redemption, nothing will stand in Shaw's way in this action-packed thriller."
