On this day in 1983, Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson defeat The Samoans (Afa & Sika) to win the WWF World Tag Team Titles and ended the last Tag Title reign of The Samoans. They made history as they became the first black WWF World tag team champions.

15 years later after that, in 1998 at the WWF Survivor Series: Deadly Games PPV, the Rock won his first ever World Title when he defeated Mankind in the tournament finals to become the new WWF Champion. The Rock was a big fan favourite when he entered into the PPV but by the time it ended, The Rock turned on the people and joined Mr.McMahon & his son Shane to begin the Corporation angle.
