Opinion: Is it time for Hulk Hogan to return to WWE?

Is it t
Is it time, Brother?

There have been numerous reports over the past 2 years about Hulk Hogan possibly returning to WWE. The most recent of these came just yesterday, with TMZ reporting that a deal between the two sides is close to being reached.

TMZ says that the two sides started talking after Hogan expressed interest in appearing at the Greatest Royal Rumble last week, which obviously didn't happen.

WWE has since commented on the report saying:

WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE.

Although they have stated that Hogan is not under contract, that doesn't mean that two sides are not negotiating.

Opinions from current and former WWE stars have been mixed. 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee, Mark Henry has said that him and others are not ready for a Hogan return and that Hogan needs to apologize to everyone in the company

At the same time, 2018 WWE Hall of Fame headliner Bill Goldberg recently said that Hogan at least deserves to be put in the WWE locker room and given the floor to speak his mind.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross also said late last year that if Hulk Hogan doesn't return to WWE in 2018, he can't envision it ever happening.

So, is it time for a Hulk Hogan return to WWE? Has enough time passed since his leaked racial remarks?

To be honest, I think so. Hogan is genuinely remorseful for everything he has said and done over the past few years and I believe he is trying really hard to show us all that he's a changed man.

No matter what people still think about him, he is still Hulk Hogan. He helped make WWE what it is today and whether he is under contract or not, a link between them will always exist.

I don't know if we will ever see Hogan have a television role with WWE ever again, but being a spokesperson for WWE, giving speeches at events similar to what he did at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, would make perfect sense for both parties.
