Opinion: The Undertaker's streak will go down as the greatest accomplishment in the history of WWE

It is bigger than any title reign, it puts him on a pedestal inaccessible to any other Superstar, and it is the one thing that defines who he is. For over two decades, if there was one constant at WrestleMania, then it was ‘The Streak’. It was an achievement beyond comprehension, beyond comparison, and beyond any other Superstar's reach. And, in a way, The Undertaker’s legendary career has been defined by what he has done at ‘The Grandest Stage Of Them All’.

And, for over two decades, every Superstar who stepped into the ring with him fell in front of ‘The Phenom' at WrestleMania. And, these superstars were the legends and cornerstones of the business including the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista.

Now then, nothing has been as important to the pro wrestling world as ‘The Streak’. And more than anything else, it became what it was, because of the man who owned it. The 'The Undertaker' character will go down as the greatest in the history of pro wrestling, as The Phenom has stood the test of time, constantly reinvented himself, and put his body on the line year after year, decade after decade.

More than the number 21-0, it was the journey and the way The Undertaker got there that made The Streak the greatest achievement in the history of Pro Wrestling. Nerve wrenching matches, his ability to tell a classic story to the fans seamlessly and the aura that he managed to create around the whole thing sets The Undertaker and the Streak on a pedestal that no one can ever reach.

The 'Streak vs Career' match at WrestleMania XXVI, where The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels took the fans on an emotional roller coaster ride, the brutal and vicious ‘Hell In A Cell’ encounter against Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII, where the two icons punished their bodies and stretched the limits of human endurance, and many matches along the way will be etched in the minds of fans forever.

And finally, why is The Streak the greatest achievement ever? The answer lies in what happened on the night of April 6th, 2014, when it was broken... when The Undertaker landed on the mat after the third F5 from the ‘Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar, and as his shoulders were covered for the three count at WrestleMania XXX, the WWE fans were in a state of absolute shock. They reacted as if something they saw something impossible taking place in front of their eyes.

How many times have more than 70 000 people been silenced like that? Which other Superstar could send a shock wave around the WWE fans when he lost? Which feat mattered as much as ‘The Streak’ to the WWE Universe? The Streak is a feat that sends the mind into a tizzy, and surely a feat that will never ever be replicated. For, the feat, as well as the man who owned it, were one of a kind.
