Opinion: WWE should bring back this fan favourite to partner Braun Strowman at WrestleMania
There's only one man who should partner The Monster Among Men at WrestleMania, and it would shock the WWE Universe to the core
Up until this week on Raw, the WWE Universe was left in the dark about Braun Strowman's WrestleMania and, with many fans clamouring for The Monster Among Men to be fighting for a championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All, they got their wish.
Well, sort of.
Braun Strowman won't just be contesting for one championship at WrestleMania - he may be contesting for two if he's allowed to go it alone after entering himself into the number one contender Battle Royal Match on Raw this week and winning.
But should The Monster Among Men be allowed to challenge for tag team gold as a singles competitor?
While I love the idea of Braun Strowman defeating The Bar and winning the Tag Team Championships all by himself, part of me things rules should be rules and Strowman should be forced to have a partner - and I have just the man for the job.
"Any man with two hands has got a fighting chance" and, well, those chances are amplified by a thousand if you have a Monster fighting at least half the battle.
Now, James Ellsworth is no longer under contract to WWE, but will there ever be a more appropriate time to bring back the ultimate underdog?
The Tag Team Championships are just that, so WWE should tell Braun Strowman that he NEEDS a partner for his title shot - and, because he broke the rules, The Bar get to choose his partner. Sheamus and Cesaro build up for a few weeks that they could choose several current Superstars, maybe even Curt Hawkins due to his losing streak - then say Braun will find out at WrestleMania.
Braun stands eagerly awaiting his opponent - only for James Ellsworth's theme to hit and for one of Braun's first ever opponents to come out and partner the Monster who both destroyed him in the ring, but kickstarted his WWE career.
After James Ellsworth's unexpected release last year, enough time has passed that he could easily come back to a huge pop like he got in his days before being partnered with Carmella - and, man, he was a fan favourite during his run as a pawn in the rivalry between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
The reaction to Strowman is already there, and Ellsworth has proven he can garner the same kind of reaction. With WWE pairing Braun with Alexa Bliss for the MMC in a move that's been hugely successful and helped bring out The Monster Among Men's humorous side, mimicking that with a throwback to Ellsworth would be incredible.
"Any man with two hands has a fighting chance..."
"But not if you GET THESE HANDS!"
Book it, WWE!
