Opinion: WWE veteran to make surprise return at Elimination Chamber and confront Braun Strowman?

Bruan Strowman,
You don't want to make Braun Strowman angry!

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is one of the most magical times of the year.

While it has nowhere near the level of prestige that events like WrestleMania, The Royal Rumble or Survivor Series do, it is a key event in determining who goes on to main-event WrestleMania and is known for its exciting six-man battle inside the company's most gruelling of structures.

With that being said, and John Cena, Seth Rollins, Jason Jordan, Roman Reigns, Elias Sampson, and Braun Strowman either confirmed or rumored to be in the match, one has to wonder what exactly WWE has planned and who will be the one to go on and face off against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34.

Interestingly enough, there are rumors already that Rollins and Jordan, who recently lost the tag team titles to The Bar at The Royal Rumble, will be facing off against each other at WrestleMania 34, which means that it will most likely be neither of them that end up taking on The Beast incarnate for his title.

Then there's John Cena and Elias, who are also rumored to be going head-to-head at WrestleMania 34. Of course that match probably has a better chance of being changed, especially since Cena would be much better off against a more deserving talent, but it seems to be the direction that WWE is headed right now.

That leaves WWE with Reigns and Strowman, who have a history with each other and have both chased the Universal title relentlessly over the past year or so. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, there can only be one opponent for Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, unless WWE calls an audible of course, and it looks like it will be Reigns.

Not only is this due to Reigns being rumored to be WWE's chosen one to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, but also due to the fact that Lesnar has defeated Strowman twice over the course of the last year and Braun probably can't afford another loss right now. In the end, it looks like that leaves the Big Dog to the big title fight, but what about Strowman?

Sure, Strowman will probably get a title shot against Reigns after WrestleMania, especially with the way that WWE has built him up as a big star over the past two years, but what are they going to do with him in the meantime? Furthermore, will The WWE Universe even be able to stay invested in Strowman if he loses in The Elimination Chamber?

Fortunately for Strowman and his fans, he has been rumored for some pretty great sounding WrestleMania matches and could very well have a memorable moment of his own at this year's 'Show of Shows'. In fact, the latest rumor is specluating that Strowman will be paired with Ronda Rousey to take on The Authority!

While that might be the direction a lot of people want him to go in, it seems that WWE has also planted the seeds for something completley different to happen! The seeds were planted last week on Raw when Strowman sent Kane to the hospital after a Last Man Standing match and it looks like that win over the Devil's favorite Demon could come back to haunt him.

Will Kane cost Strowman a vicotry at the Elimination Chamber?

When exactly this will happen is anyone's guess, but it is possible that WWE will have Kane return at The Elimination Chamber, tear a door or wall off the chamber and cost Strowman the victory. Not only is this the perfect way to set up a match between the two for WM 34 in New Orleans, it also protects Strowman from taking a clean loss.

Think about it, WWE dosen't want Strowman to take a clean loss right now and already proved that by taking Strowman out of the finish compeltey during the Royal Rumble title match. A loss for Strowman would also mean a huge hit in momentum for The Monster Among Men heading into 'Mania, which means that WWE needs some kind of X-factor.

And what better X-factor in the world could there be, than to see Kane come out of nowhere, appear in the cell and deliver a Tombstone to Strowman. That way, Reigns can win the match, Strowman gets protected from taking a clean loss and WWE succesfully sets up two marquee matches for WrestleMania 34.
