WWE News: Update on Austin Aries injury situation
Austin Aries is out till 2017
At any given moment, a professional wrestler runs the risk of injury. Although it is the opponent’s duty to make sure that the other person is safe while in the ring, there are many times that accidents happen while competing. At a recent NXT Live event, an injury unfortunately happened to Austin Aries.
As reported, during a match against NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in Fresno, California, Aries was busted open the hard way, and immediately suffered the consequences as a result. A number of videos taken at the event showed that he received a huge gash that closed his eye shut. To confirm these reports, Aries posted a picture of the injury on Twitter.

The latest update on the situation, as per PWInsider, is that Austin Aries will be out until the first quarter of 2017 with a large orbital fracture. The injury will require surgery, that he will be undergoing in Birmingham, Alabama.
Similarly, Heath Slater also recently suffered an huge gash on his eye during a match against Titus O’Neil at an event in Bangor, Maine. As a result, the match was stopped, and O’Neil was declared the winner.
WWE documented this injury by showing the stitches received for the six centimeter laceration.
While any injury is not something that a WWE or NXT superstar would be fine with suffering, if there is any positive thing to look at, it could have been much more severe. As Aries is aware of, suffering an injury that causes someone to be shelved can not only put him or her on hiatus for a number of months, but it can also affect his or her current momentum in the company.
Someone can be ascending up the ranking before an injury, and all of a sudden, an injury can completely halt a push.
Let us wish him the speediest of recoveries, and hope that he resumes where he left off once he returns from the injury.
