#7 Io Shirai vs. Deonna Purazzo (Evolution)

With roughly 20 of the 32 competitors revealed, the direction the Mae Young Classic is headed in looks clear. Io Shirai and Deonna Purazzo are the faraway favorites and are likeliest to meet in the final at Evolution on October 28th.

Both considered among the best in the world, Shirai's high-flying, hard-hitting style will clash well with her opponent's ground-based mat wrestling game which is heavy on submissions. Would Deonna Purazzo be able to keep the "Genius of the Sky" grounded for long enough to lock in her armbar? Or will Io Shirai just deliver hard hit after hard hit to get to the Mae Young Classic trophy?

Much like the tournament itself, this year's final should easily exceed last year's, both in quality and on the size of the stage it's on.
