What's the story?

Another day, another Kevin Nash surgery. The WWE legend recently underwent an operation on his knee to fix issues that have plagued him all throughout his 33-year career.

However, the gruesome post-surgery photo is probably the nastiest thing you'll see all day, possibly all month.

The 6-time World Champion's body has taken tremendous amounts of punishment over the course of his 27-year career. It was said that Nash went under the knife for the 31st time in February this year and despite the battering, his body has mercilessly taken, the WCW legend continues to march on.

The nWo stalwart has made sporadic appearances for the WWE, with his last one coming at WrestleMania 31 when he unsuccessfully helped Sting in his match against Triple H.

The heart of the matter

24 staples! That's the number of stitches that were required to close the outrageous cut on the 12-time tag team Champion's knee.

Big Daddy Cool isn't ready to chill just yet though. Despite the innumerable surgeries and the prescribed rehab time, Nash loved the amazing process and is eager to get back to training soon.

What's next?

The former WWE Champion is currently semi-retired from wrestling and as they say in the business, never say never. Although Nash is on the wrong side of the fifties, he still has the drive and passion to get back and contribute to the industry that he helped popularize.

The possibilities are endless for the 6' 7" giant if he ever plans on returning to WWE. A role as general manager and the obvious retirement match against an up and comer or a famed rival are the go-to booking decisions in the scenario.

Author's take

Nash may be infamous for playing a pivotal role in the murky backstage politics that proved to be the death knell for WCW, but there's no denying the toughness of the veteran.

A pro wrestling genius in his own right, Nash is living proof that the big bad world of wrassling' is not all that fake and can have long-term implications on an athlete's health.
