What’s the story?

Legendary professional wrestling writer and expert Vince Russo has returned to the professional wrestling business.

Cuban pro-wrestling legend Konnan has taken to social media to announce that Russo has indeed been hired as a ‘Script Consultant’ for Aro Lucha. Russo’s comeback to the business has seen mixed fan-reaction thus far—

In case you didn’t know…

Konnan, whose real name is Charles Ashenoff, is the Head Of Creative for Lucha Libre pro-wrestling organization Aro Lucha.

On the other hand, Vince Russo is widely regarded as one of the most charismatic and controversial wrestling writers and personalities of all time. Russo has worked prominently in the WWE, WCW and TNA.

The heart of the matter

Cuban legend Konnan, who’s oft featured as the patriarch of LAX (The Latin American Xchange) on Impact Wrestling, has also served in several Lucha promotions, and is now at the helm of the management in Aro Lucha.

The former nWo member has now officially announced Vince Russo as part of Aro Lucha and that he will serve as a Script Consultant for the company.

Although Konna specified that Russo had been brought in as a Script Consultant for Aro Lucha for the promotion’s December 10th show, it is yet to be confirmed whether or not the latter will assume a full-time role in the company for future shows as well.

Ever since the announcement of Russo’s return to the business, the professional wrestling community has given mixed reactions to the same—some positive, while a few others being negative.

What’s next?

Fans can expect Vince Russo and Konnan to reveal further details of their partnership, if any, in the days to come.

Whether the duo are set to work together full-time for the foreseeable future, is likely to unravel sooner rather than later.

Author’s take

Vince Russo is one of the most charismatic and polarising figures in the history of pro-wrestling.

Regardless, I truly believe he’s an underappreciated, oft-misunderstood genius who needs to be given an opportunity to once again provide fans with edgy, unpredictable storylines. Here’s hoping Konnan and Russo’s partnership works out for the best, not only in Aro Lucha but in any other ventures as well.
