Ranking Braun Strowman's 5 best moments in WWE

Braun Strowman has become one of WWE's most entertaining Superstars

Remember Kurt Angle’s 2017 Hall of Fame speech? Before the milk celebration, he made a very good point about how WWE is all about ‘moments’ and how Superstars should take every chance they get to entertain fans with moments they’ll remember forever.

Ever since that day, Braun Strowman has created more memorable moments than many Superstars do in a whole career – from the time he broke the ring with The Big Show to his recent sing-a-long with Elias.

In this article, with an honourable mention going to the time he did a kip-up, we rank the five greatest moments of Strowman’s WWE career so far.

#5 His debut with the Wyatt Family

As great as the NXT process is, there’s no getting away from the fact that main-roster debuts used to be a lot more memorable when we hardly knew who the new Superstar was.

One rare case of that happening in recent years came in August 2015 when Braun Strowman, who wasn’t used as an in-ring performer on NXT television, made his WWE debut as a member of the Wyatt Family.

With Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose on the verge of defeating Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper for the second night in a row, Strowman emerged as the “Black Sheep” of the Wyatts and quickly sent a message to the rest of the locker room by making Reigns and Ambrose pass out.

#4 No-selling a suplex from Brock Lesnar

When Brock Lesnar emphatically defeated John Cena at SummerSlam 2014, the WWE Universe bore witness to ‘Suplex City’ for the very first time.

Since then, “The Beast” has executed several suplexes on the likes of Roman Reigns and The Undertaker during their matches, and he tried to use the same tactic when he came face-to-face with Braun Strowman on Raw in September 2017.

On this occasion, however, Lesnar didn’t fare so well, as Strowman immediately hopped back to his feet after receiving a suplex and proceeded to 'monster-handle' his rival by hitting him with a chokeslam and running powerslam.

#3 The ambulance flip

It’s not very often that someone defeats Roman Reigns once in a singles match, never mind twice or, in Braun Strowman’s case, multiple times.

“The Monster Among Men” became one of just three men (Seth Rollins and Finn Balor being the other two) to win clean in a singles match against Reigns when he defeated him in the main event of Payback 2017.

Three weeks prior to the match, Strowman attacked “The Big Dog” during a backstage interview on Raw, leading to Reigns being wheeled away on a stretcher.

However, Braun wasn’t finished with his rival, wheeling him off a loading dock before using his strongman background to flip over an ambulance that Reigns was in!

#2 The Monster Among Music

Braun Strowman’s most recent moment of brilliance inspired this list in the first place, so how can it not at least appear in the top two?

On the 12 February 2018 episode of Raw, Elias was gracing the San Jose crowd with his presence and treating them to one of his customary songs when, all of a sudden, a spotlight shone halfway up the ramp and “The Monster Among Men” appeared.

Greeted with huge applause, Strowman left the spotlight momentarily, only to return with an upright bass, which his monstrous hands accidentally damaged within seconds.

He then proceeded to sing a song of his own for Elias, informing his Elimination Chamber opponent that he would “get these hands”, and Braun duly delivered by breaking the bass on Elias’ back.

#1 Breaking the ring with The Big Show

If Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns was Raw Rivalry of the Year in 2017, then Braun Strowman vs. The Big Show was certainly a close second. The two giants faced off in three main events on Raw throughout the year, with the most memorable match between the two taking place in mid-April.

The WWE Universe had high expectations for the match following their exciting encounter in February, which was won by Strowman, and the two men didn’t disappoint in the second match of their rivalry.

After twice teasing a middle-rope suplex, “The Monster Among Men” finally delivered at the third attempt, and the end result was suitably monstrous. The ring collapsed under the combined 800+ lbs weight of the two men, while the referee lost his footing and was sent flying through the ropes and onto the outside of the ring.

Strowman has had so many amazing moments during his first couple of years in WWE, but this one tops our list because, well, it’s not every week you see the ring break, is it?!
