After 7 years away from WWE, Shane McMahon made his shocking return to the company in 2016. Interrupting his father, who was awarding the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award to his sister Stephanie, Shane McMahon informed Vince McMahon that he wanted control of RAW. Implying that he had some dirt in a "lock box" on the WWE Chairman, Mr. McMahon agreed to Shane's demands, but only if Shane O'Mac could defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania in a Hell In A Cell match.

It was also later revealed that if The Undertaker lost the match at WrestleMania, "The Deadman" would not be allowed to compete at another WrestleMania event.

If you think this storyline seems convoluted and overly confusing, then you're not alone. Going into WrestleMania, many were critical of the Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon and the Undertaker story as there were a multitude of plotholes and a real lack of logic in the storyline.

Nevertheless, the Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shane McMahon was certainly a spectacle. Lasting over 30 minutes, the match was the longest on the card and featured an incredible WWE WrestleMania moment as Shane McMahon attempted a leap of faith elbow drop from the top of the cell but crashed through an announce table as The Undertaker rolled out of the way.

Soon after, The Deadman defeated Shane McMahon after hitting a tombstone in the middle of the ring. Despite the match lasting an unnecessary length and the strange, non-sensicle storyline, the match will always be remembered for Shane McMahon's death defying leap off the Hell in a Cell structure. A true WWE WrestleMania moment.
