Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return last weekend at SummerSlam, immediately targeting Solo Sikoa, which helped Cody Rhodes retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, that still leaves the question as to where will fans see the Original Tribal Chief next.
The 2024 WWE Draft took place following WrestleMania 40 with the first night being held on SmackDown. Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Paul Heyman represented The Bloodline, which remained on the blue brand. However, fans were shocked to learn that Roman Reigns told his Wiseman he had withdrawn himself from the Draft. Due to this, The Head of the Table is considered a free agent, but it seems pretty clear which brand he will go to following his return.
Roman Reigns is one of the stars scheduled to appear on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown after SummerSlam on August 9, 2024. With this in mind, The Head of the Table may have chosen to remain on the Friday show. Although his brand may not have changed, his character may have, as it was reported by PWInsider that the returning star is listed as a babyface in the internal roster.
One wrong move ruined his entire WWE career - Watch Now!
SummerSlam 2024 marked the first time Roman returned to WWE television since losing the Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. During his absence, Solo took over as 'The Tribal Chief' and leader of The Bloodline. Sikoa also changed the lineup by kicking out Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso and added Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
Have Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes become friends after what happened at SummerSlam?
Although the Original Tribal Chief lost the title to Cody months ago, it's quite ironic to think that he is the reason Rhodes is still the champion instead of Solo. However, fans should not expect both stars to bury the hatchet just yet.
At the SummerSlam post-show press conference, The American Nightmare shared that he wasn't friends with Roman Reigns. The American Nightmare added that his former rival only helped him because of what was transpiring with The Bloodline.
"I know I'm not his friend. He did not do that for me, but because of what is happening with The Bloodline and Solo. That is something to stay tuned for, probably on SmackDown in the sense of what happens with The Bloodline. The Bloodline has been the anchor of WWE for some time, and what happens next, not just with Solo and not just with Roman but Jacob Fatu, who is, as all we can see, is something unbelievable," Rhodes said.
It would be interesting to see what is next for Roman Reigns on his upcoming return to SmackDown.
