Upsetting news has come out in regards to WWE and injuries. Two different performers on Monday Night RAW are allegedly hurt and have potentially been written off television. One of the stars is Seth Rollins and the other is Dakota Kai.
Many fans were surprised when Dakota's match on RAW was changed and IYO SKY fought instead. Dakota was attacked by the trio of Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, and Zoey Stark and was deemed unfit to compete leading to The Genius of the Sky replacing her.
As it turns out, that may have been done to write Dakota off television for the short term. While Dakota herself is yet to acknowledge the rumors of her injury and World Wrestling Entertainment themselves haven't confirmed it, there is a very real chance the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion could be out of action.
If she is going to be away from television for the foreseeable future, Damage CTRL may need someone to have their back. This article will take a look at four possible replacements for Dakota in Damage CTRL if the WWE star is truly injured for a significant period of time.
Do CM Punk and Drew McIntyre hate each other off camera? Pro wrestling legend thinks SO
Below are four possible replacements for Dakota Kai in Damage CTRL following the unfortunate injury update.
#4. Bayley could reunite with her former allies
Bayley is one of the greatest female superstars of all time. She is a multi-time world champion, a former Royal Rumble winner, a WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, and the mastermind behind the original incarnation of Damage CTRL.
The Role Model is in a tough spot right now. She was the WWE Women's Champion, but Bayley lost the gold to Nia Jax at SummerSlam. On the following week's SmackDown, the former champion was nowhere to be seen.
This may be time for Bayley to hit the reset button. Moving to RAW and reuniting with her former allies in Damage CTRL may be the best move. Now that the group seems to be on the babyfaces, surely they will treat her better and with respect.
#3. Tegan Nox isn't doing anything else on WWE television
Tegan Nox is a talented, but grossly underutilized WWE star. She is in her second run with the sports entertainment juggernaut. While the first was solid for her time on NXT, her main roster run never truly kicked off. This time around, things are better, but still far from ideal.
The Welsh Wizard has been out of action on WWE television since April. She isn't injured, as Nox has competed in a handful of dark matches. Instead, Tegan simply isn't being used by the Stamford-based promotion.
Nox is too good to sit around on the sidelines. Triple H should add her to Damage CTRL and let her do something noteworthy. Plus, given her history with Dakota, this could create an interesting dynamic when The Kicking Kiwi returns.
#2. Zelina Vega also dislikes Sonya Deville's new faction
Zelina Vega is a loved WWE star. Vega is currently a member of the Latino World Order alongside Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro. Additionally, she's a former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
Just like Damage CTRL, Vega has had issues with the trio of Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler. The three women have attempted to injure Zelina's arm on WWE RAW twice now.
Supposing that she is healthy enough to compete, Zelina could shock everybody by joining Damage CTRL. She has an attitude that would fit in nicely with the other members, but above all else, she has reason to target The Jersey Devil, The Queen Of Spades, and Stark.
#1. Meiko Satomura could have a main roster run before retiring
Meiko Satomura is a legend in pro wrestling. She first started her career dating back to the 1990s, developing a large following in Japan. Her success in North America and Europe is likely best defined by her time in WWE via NXT, NXT UK, and the Mae Young Classic.
In sad news, The Final Boss recently revealed that her time in pro wrestling is coming to an end. Meiko's last match is set to take place in April of next year, meaning she has around eight months left as an in-ring competitor.
As her final swansong in the industry, WWE could bring Meiko Satomura on the road as a member of Damage CTRL. This would be the biggest run of her career, which in turn would be the perfect way to cap it off. Plus, Satomura can hang with the very best in the ring, so the quality of this short run would be through the roof.
