What's the story?

On the 16th Anniversary Show of Ring of Honour, Rhodes had a match scheduled with Matt Taven. When he came to the ring he was accompanied by his wife Brandi Rhodes, and Bury the Drug Free Bear. While no one was sure who Bury was, The Young Bucks were unable to come down to the ring with Cody having been attacked earlier in the night.

After the match, Rhodes was attacked by the bear, who was later revealed to be none other than Kenny Omega.

Thanks to Cage Side Seats for the heads up.

In case you didn't know...

Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega have been at loggerheads for a while. A rivalry that started over who was the leader of the Bullet Club, turned into something else recently over his friendship with Kota Ibushi, leaving the status of Kenny Omega as a part of the Elite and the Bullet Club in doubt.

During one of the arguments with fellow club members, Omega accidentally shoved Matt Jackson to the ring. The rest of the Club left the ringside area, with Omega and Rhodes discussing their differences.

It appeared they had reached a point of agreement when Cody hit Omega with a Cross Rhodes instead. Omega was saved from the attack by his 'Golden Lovers' partner, Kota Ibushi.

The heart of the matter

Cody Rhodes was joined ringside by Bury the Drug-Free Bear, and Brandi Rhodes during his bout against Matt Taven. As the Kingdom had attacked the Young Bucks earlier in the night, they could not join Rhodes at ringside.

Cody won the match without their assistance but was attacked after his victory by Bury. He took off his bear head to reveal that it was Omega in the suit, after which he hit Cody with the V-Trigger.

After he laid out Cody, Omega came face to face with Brandi who kissed him out of nowhere, before leaving.

What's next?

Kenny Omega and Cody are set to face each other in a match at Supercard of Honor XII in New Orleans on the 7th of April.

Author's take

The entire segment of Bury the Bear was entertaining, and fans had always suspected that it was Kenny Omega under the bear head. The rivalry between the two has reached a new level.
