What’s the story?
On Friday morning, Ring of Honor Wrestling confirmed on their social media sites that current NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis will be making his debut for the promotion later this month as part of the 2018 Honor United tour.
In case you didn’t know…
Nick Aldis fka Magnus is best known for his work with American promotion TNA/Impact Wrestling, where he is a former one-time Impact Wrestling World Champion and a two-time Impact Tag Team Champion as well.
Aldis, who is also a former GFW World Champion, recently captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship after an impressive win over Tim Storm on 9th December 2017.
The heart of the matter
Following an appearance at this year’s ROH: Supercard of Honor XII, current NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is now set to make his in-ring debut for the promotion at Honor United: Edinburgh, as the 31-year-old British superstar is set to be in action in a tag team match against Matt and Nick Jackson—The Young Bucks.
As noted, Aldis recently posted on his official Twitter handle that ahead of a possible NWA World Title defense against The Young Bucks’ fellow Bullet Club stablemate Cody Rhodes at All In, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion wants a shot at both Matt and Nick Jackson when the ROH crew lands in the UK later this month.
In addition, Aldis has also seemingly allowed the ROH management to pick a tag team partner of their choice ahead of his showdown against The Bucks.
What’s next?
The Honor United tour will kick off on the 24th of January in Edinburgh, Scotland and will continue in London, England on May 26th and Doncaster, England on the 27th. So far, several NJPW superstars have also been confirmed to appear on this show with the inclusion of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano, current IWGP Tag Team Champions Sanada, and Evil, who is also slated to a shot at Dalton Castle’s ROH World Title on the 26th of May in London.

Nick Aldis’ addition to the ROH roster is definitely a very strong move and I’m also excited to see which superstar is eventually going to team up with Aldis in Edinburgh. Could we possibly witness a British Invasion reunion in ROH or will The Young Bucks’ BC brethren Marty Scurll provide a helping hand to his good friend Aldis? Only time will tell.
