ROH News: ROH announces two big names as 2017's award winners

ROH has announced two huge names as the winners for Wrestler of the Year in their respective divisions.

While Deonna Purrazzo won the Women Of Honor Wrestler of the Year, Cody Rhodes was awarded ROH’s Wrestler of the Year award.

In case you didn’t know…

Cody Rhodes transitioned from the WWE to the independent professional wrestling circuit a while back and is now considered to be one of professional wrestling top stars outside the WWE.

On the other hand, Deonna Purrazzo—who just confirmed big news about her career—extensively competed in ROH’s Women’s Division aka Women Of Honor.

The heart of the matter

Cody Rhodes bagged the honour of Ring of Honor Wrestler of the Year (2017)—following his ROH World Championship reign in 2017 and multiple great matches for the promotion.

Furthermore, Deonna Purrazzo has now been officially revealed as the winner of 2017’s Women of Honor Wrestler of the Year.

ROH continues to felicitate its performers in 2018, with the much-awaited Women of Honor Championship Tournament, set to commence later this month.

What’s next?

Fans can watch ROH’s Women of Honor Championship Tournament from January 20th onwards. On the other hand, with Dalton Castle defeating Cody for the ROH World Championship, the former serves as the organization’s top champion today.

First off, congratulations to both Deonna Purrazzo and Cody Rhodes on their accomplishments.

Purrazzo cannot possibly be praised enough for the poise and veteran savvy she displays in the ring. She’s a true talent and most definitely someone to watch out for in professional wrestling for the next decade or so.

On the other hand, Cody took a huge risk by leaving the WWE and risking his brand on the indies. It’s safe to say that his bet on himself, paid off in a huge way. Here’s wishing these talented young stars the best of luck in 2018 as well.
