Jonathan Coachman qualified for the Rumble after beating Jerry 'The King' Lawler in the qualifying match between the two broadcast colleagues. He did get an assist from the Spirit Squad who made their way to the ring in between the match and caused some distraction to the Hall of Famer.

He made his way to the ring as entry #7 and has little-to-no impact on the match. Big Show managed to throw him off the top of the rope and Coachman's stint in the match lasted exactly 30 seconds!
That was his first and only appearance in the Rumble and luckily, WWE have only tried one other commentator in the Rumble – Michael Cole. Both were big-time flops and were waste of spots in the match.
