Former WWE writer voluntarily dismisses alleged lawsuit against Vince McMahon and others - Reports

The latest reports suggest that a lawsuit against former CEO Vince McMahon and other executives of the Stamford-based promotion has been dismissed by former WWE writer Britney Abrahams.

In April of this year, Abrahams filed a complaint against Mr. McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and a number of other corporate officials for allegedly using racial slurs and retaliation.

WWE Superstars, including Apollo Crews, Bianca Belair, and former star Mansoor, were allegedly victims of discriminatory storylines.

An appeal was recently made in favor of all of the defendants in the case, demanding a delay in responding to Abraham's claim. If the petition received approval, the due date for the response was moved from June 26 to September 5.

According to Brandon Thurston, the lawsuit was voluntarily dropped with prejudice on October 13, 2023. Abraham was represented by Derek S. Sells of The Cochrane Firm, who claimed that each party would pay its own legal bills.

The reason for the voluntary dismissal was not given. The case was dismissed with prejudice, which means it cannot be heard again in the same courtroom.

Abrahams' lawsuit generated an explosion of controversy when it initially surfaced. The 31-page lawsuit claimed that a few members of the WWE creative team pitched racially inflammatory notions about Apollo Crews, Bianca Belair, and Mansoor, such as one insinuating Mansoor had taken part in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In another situation, the former WWE writer was dissatisfied with the company's creative choice to let Apollo Crews communicate in an exaggerated Nigerian accent.

The former writer also alleged that she opposed these ideas and was fired for voicing them. WWE accused her of taking a WrestleMania commemorative chair as the reason for her departure, despite the fact that Caucasian writers are free to do so.

Only time will tell what the former CEO Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon have to say about the lawsuit being dismissed.
