Major spoiler on surprising WWE return set for SmackDown - reports

It seems as though this week's episode of WWE SmackDown could finally be the place for Kiana James to make her return to the company following her recent injury hiatus.

James was drafted to WWE RAW last year and appeared in a few matches before she got injured back in June 2024 and has since been sidelined. According to a report by Fightful Select, Kiana James is backstage at SmackDown tonight and could finally make her return.

Kiana James was most recently seen training with Charlotte Flair, who appears to have helped her throughout her rehab while recovering from injury, and now the two women could be on the same brand.

She wasn't able to make a huge impact on her debut run on RAW, but it seems that the higher-ups in WWE see something special in her and are now hoping that she can come back and bring her talents to the SmackDown women's division.

Kiana James was a surprising addition to the WWE Draft last year, since she was still rising through the ranks in NXT at the time. She was then able to wrestle a couple of matches on RAW but suffered an injury that has kept her out of action for almost a year.

Many wrestling fans may not remember her from RAW, but there could be storyline plans for her on SmackDown now to aid her climb the ranks and make an impact before SummerSlam.

SummerSlam is a two-night show this year, and it seems that it could open the card up to include many more stars. SmackDown also has a three-hour runtime, which means there could be more opportunities for Kiana James in the blue brand.
