Mr. Iguana took the world by storm when he competed for WWE at Worlds Collide 2025. According to a new report, the rising star already had heat in the Stamford-based promotion following the event.
WWE x AAA's Worlds Collide was a smashing hit as it broke records on YouTube. While Chad Gable and El Hijo del Vikingo headlined the event, Mr. Iguana and La Yesca stole the show with their entertaining act during the six-man tag team match against the Latino World Order.
However, the 36-year-old star was reportedly in hot water after the event. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Mr. Iguana received heat for his comments about skipping the developmental brand and joining WWE's main roster. The interview went live sometime after Worlds Collide, and it didn't sit well backstage.

Moreover, the video where he claimed to have gotten a main-roster call-up was edited out as well. While Iguana showcased gratitude towards the new opportunities, the comments on skipping the developmental brand didn't sit well with management. Mr. Iguana and La Yesca became an overnight sensation when they appeared at Worlds Collide 2025. The 36-year-old star teamed up with Octagón Jr. and Aero Star and scored a win in the six-man tag team match against the Latino World Order's Dragon Lee, and Cruz Del Toro, and Lince Dorado.
However, the highlight of the night was the entertaining act of Iguana and Yesca, which received praise across the board from fans and industry veterans. After the event and an appearance at Money in the Bank 2025, WWE reportedly had high interest in the rising star, and Mr. Iguana has been seen around at the Performance Center.
Recently, the return of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament was announced for the main roster. While Asuka's return was revealed, there's an open spot available on the men's side. Later, Sheamus sent a message and teased a potential Mr. Iguana appearance.
