So without any further ado, let us dive in and take a look at some big rumors emanating from the WWE gossip mill:

#5 Backstage politics involved in Brock Lesnar's return to WWE

Dave Melzter of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that the main reason for Brock Lesnar coming back to WWE at SummerSlam was related to CM Punk joining AEW.

He stated that the FOX network was not happy that WWE were unable to bring CM Punk to SmackDown. In order to appease the network, WWE had to bring Brock Lesnar back to feud with SmackDown's Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Unlike Becky Lynch, Lesnar's return was not initially planned for SummerSlam and it was political pressure by FOX because of which WWE “felt the need to get Lesnar and (Becky) Lynch to SmackDown right away.”

Meltzer also talked about WWE's relationship with FOX, saying that the two parties have often found themselves not on the same page.

“The situation with Fox and WWE is always up and down with the key being that Fox’s SmackDown is used to promote Peacock, the streaming service of NBCU, particularly since Fox has its own streaming services they are rolling out,” said Meltzer.

He also mentioned that Brock Lesnar managed to get himself another splendid deal because the timing of it was right.

#4 Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan to join AEW at All Out?

There have been rumors circulating about former WWE champion Daniel Bryan heading to AEW for quite a while. Now, Andrew Zarion of Mat Men has noted that the belief is that multiple former WWE superstars, including Bryan Danielson and Ruby Soho, are set to join AEW at All Out.

An Andrew Zarian tweet saying All Out will have “a few surprises” led to speculation about Bryan Danielson, Ruby Soho, and others appearing at AEW’s Sept. 5 PPV. (H/T: CSS)

Recently CM Punk joined AEW and the buzz around the company has been high. It would be the perfect time for Daniel Bryan to make his AEW debut as well.

#3 Why was Brock Lesnar's SmackDown return delayed?

Brock Lesnar was expected to be at SmackDown this week after making his big return at SummerSlam. It was believed Lesnar will make his way to Smackdown to confront Roman Reigns. Unfortunately, nothing of that sort happened.

PWInsider has noted that the reason for a delay in Brock Lesnar's return to WWE TV is because Finn Balor is scheduled to be Roman Reigns' opponent for WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view next month.

Balor challenged The Tribal Chief to a match at this week's SmackDown after he crashed The Bloodline's celebration at the main event of WWE SmackDown.

#2 USA Network unhappy with Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch return to WWE SmackDown

Former RAW superstars Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar made their return to WWE. However, by targeting SmackDown Champions, it has become clear that these two big names will become SmackDown superstars going forward.

Andrew Zarian of Mat Men has revealed that WWE's partners NBC and USA Network, who air RAW were very unhappy that two former RAW Superstars have been moved to SmackDown, which airs on FOX.

As per the report, WWE has assured them that this is temporary and big names will be coming to RAW during the upcoming WWE Draft.

#1 Backstage reaction to Bianca Belair losing at WWE SummerSlam

Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam and made a big impact. The man then beat the SmackDown Women's Champion in 25 seconds to become the new champion.

WWE's decision to have such a short match between the two women was heavily criticized. It was reported that Lynch becoming the new champion was a last-minute call due to Sasha Banks being unavailable at SummerSlam.

Fightful Select has reported that the backstage reaction was mixed. They also reported that Bianca Belair was seen in high spirits and top WWE officials were impressed with The EST's attitude. Belair has been called a thorough professional and someone who makes the best of every situation she is put into.
