What’s the story?
WrestleMania 33 is less than a week away and WWE is leaving no stone unturned to make this event a blockbuster. The star power for the event is huge given the likes of Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, The Undertaker, Roman Reigns and AJ Styles among others being present on the card.
The company is trying to bring former Superstars and Divas and make them part of the event to garner even more attention to the biggest wrestling event of the year. It was reported by PWinsider that Eve Torres is being brought in by the WWE for the WrestleMania 33 weekend.
Also, Maryse just announced that Torres, Kelly Kelly and herself will be featured on an upcoming episode of Table for 3. This is the first indication of her return to a full-time role in the company along with Kelly Kelly.
In case you didn’t know…
Eve Torres is a three-time Divas Champion and was associated with the WWE during 2007-2013. Her last WrestleMania appearance was in 2012 at WrestleMania 28 when she competed in a tag team match. Eve has been working as the ambassador of WWE since 2013.
She was involved in feuds with Beth Phoenix and Layla on multiple occasions and her storylines with Beth were amongst the best in the Divas division back then. Eve’s backstage chemistry with John Cena and Zack Ryder will also be remembered by WWE fans for a long time.
The heart of the matter
Rumours suggest that Eve will be present at WrestleMania 33 and she could even take part in the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship match alongside Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Natalya and Carmella.
It was earlier reported that former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly was signed to appear for the WrestleMania Axxess event. However, there is no clarity on what Eve would “actually” do during the WrestleMania 33 weekend as the company hasn’t given an official word on it.
The WWE Universe is all geared up for the Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33 and WWE could do two things if at all Eve is really returning for WrestleMania 33.
She could appear at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando and address the women’s division just like Lita did last year or even be part of the match/promotional activities. Either way, the crowd would go crazy on seeing Eve, a woman they so adorably followed in the past.
WWE signed Mickie James recently but I believe that it wouldn’t be the best idea to bring Eve into the title scene at WrestleMania 33. This will surely add more aura to this match but it shouldn’t be done at the cost of burying Becky, Alexa and Nattie.
As far as I believe, they should be given a chance to showcase their talent on the grandest stage of them all and come into the limelight.
