WWE Rumors: The Rock and Vin Diesel being kept apart on the Fast and Furious press tour

The Rock and Vin Diesel have been staying away from each other over the past few months

What’s the story?

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel are being kept apart in the promotional tour for ‘The Fate of the Furious’ by the Fast and Furious franchise producers, Universal Studios.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the F&F co-stars who were involved in a series of heated exchanges after a social media tussle last year, are being made to appear separately for most of their upcoming ‘Fast and Furious’ movie’s promotional events.

In case you didn’t know...

The Rock made his F&F franchise debut in ‘Fast Five’, back in 2011 and has since become a lead character in the F&F series.

Johnson and Vin Diesel’s alleged beef started last year after Diesel arrived late for a shoot of his character’s final scene with The Rock, which in turn lead Rocky to go on a social media rant against him, albeit without mentioning him by name.

The social media war was reportedly followed by a heated confrontation between the two in The Rock’s trailer on the film’s set.

The heart of the matter:

Universal Studios is bringing promotional footage of The Fate of the Furious to a CinemaCon event, where the entire cast of F&F will be present except The Rock.

It’s essential to note that The Rock has recently made promotional appearances for a couple of his other movies namely Jumanji and Baywatch on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

Sources close to CinemaCon have reported that Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel are being kept apart as much as possible in the Fast and Furious press tour for the franchise’s 8th edition that will release this April 14th.

What’s next?

The Rock and Vin Diesel are contractually obligated to make a joint-promotional appearance at the New York premiere of The Fate of the Furious on April 8th 2017.

F&F 8 will release worldwide on the 14th of April, 2017, and stars Jason Statham, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren.

Author’s take:

Fight! Fight! Fight! ...Well, not really! All you professional wrestling fans out there hold your horses because Vin Diesel and The Rock aren’t going to face off inside the squared-circle anytime soon.

Now mind you, this beef between the two hulking behemoths seems legit, but considering the fact that both stars are savvy businessmen, I’d be willing to bet that they’d squash their beef and continue working together, rather than quitting the franchise and giving up on millions of dollars.

That said, if a fight does break out between the two, whose side are you guys on? Sound off in the comments!
