WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon loves watching Enzo Amore get ragdolled

Enzo and Cass are one of the most popular tag teams in WWE today

What’s the story?

As reported by f4wonline, Dave Meltzer weighed in on Vince McMahon’s plans for Enzo Amore’s character and role in the WWE.

Meltzer stated that Vince McMahon likes the fact that Amore gets rag-dolled in most of his matches in the WWE, emphasising the fact that it is exactly what McMahon and the WWE Creative team want from Enzo every time he performs inside the squared-circle.

In case you didn’t know...

After enrolling at the WWE Performance Center in 2012, Enzo Amore (real name Eric Anthony Arndt) made a name for himself on NXT alongside Big Cass (William Morrissey).

The duo made its WWE main roster debut after WrestleMania 32, last year, and are presently one of the most crowd favourite tag-teams in the WWE.

The heart of the matter:

Dave Meltzer alluded to the fact that WWE executives and Vince McMahon in particular, love to have Amore over-sell moves by taking exaggerated bumps. Here’s what the veteran pro-wrestling journalist had to say on the topic:

“There’s people backstage that, I guess Vince McMahon, love(s) to watch Enzo just (ragdolled)… that’s why his character is this character because Vince thinks that’s his character.

He could be a freakin’ incredible heel manager, I mean incredible. But Vince doesn’t believe in heel managers either, unfortunately.”

What’s next?

After coming up short in the Fatal 4-Way Ladder match for the RAW tag team titles at WrestleMania 33, Enzo and Cass were defeated yet again in their tag team match to determine the Number 1 contenders for the aforementioned titles on the Raw after Mania.

Enzo and Cass will look to redeem themselves in the upcoming weeks, as the RAW tag team division has seen a major shake-up after the introduction of the Hardy Boyz and the Revival to the roster.

Author’s take:

Meltzer is spot on here, in the sense that McMahon loves to have Amore as the trash-talking hype-man who ends up getting beat-down more often than not when it comes to walking the walk.

It’s essential to note that the WWE backstage executives’ current obsession of having Enzo take insane bumps to highlight his character’s aforementioned traits, actually ended up legitimately hurting him after he suffered a concussion last year at WWE’s Payback Pay-Per-View in a match against the Vaudevillains.

Regardless of what direction the WWE want to give his character, Enzo’s safety must be their top priority.
