WWE News: Sasha Banks vs Charlotte will main event Hell In A Cell

For the first time ever on the main roster: A Women’s PPV main event

Ever since the revolution started, there has been a question as to when the women will main event a Pay-Per-View. Considering the progress of the female division over the course of the last few years, things have been looking more and more positive in this regard.

At Wrestlemania 32 this year when the Divas Championship was changed to the Women’s Championship, and the Divas division was changed to the women’s division, it was not a matter of if, but when, the women would eventually main event a PPV.

Raw General Manager Mick Foley broke the news on Facebook that Sasha Banks and Charlotte will be the main event of Hell In A Cell 12 days from now.

Mick Foley has always been a vocal advocate for the female division, and there is no doubt that he must be thrilled that the women of Raw are going to be main eventing a PPV. As mentioned above, for a while now it has been a matter of when, and not if, the women would ever main event a PPV.

We got a glimpse of women headlining a WWE special last year around this time when Sasha Banks and Bayley main-evented NXT Takeover: Respect in a 30-minute Iron Man match for the NXT Women’s Championship which became an instant classic.

Now, the Four Horsewomen are tearing it up on the main roster, and the central feud of the Raw Women’s division is Sasha Banks vs Charlotte, a feud that has been going on since the end of June. However, with history being made as they are not only going to be involved in the first ever Women’s Hell In A Cell match but also confirmed to be main eventing the PPV, it looks like the feud will finally come to an end.

Sasha Banks and Charlotte have had some of the most incredible chemistry in recent memory, male or female. Both have upped the ante and have proven to be the faces of the Women’s Revolution and the stars of female wrestling. They’ve already transcended the previous torch bearers, and have grabbed the torch and ran with it themselves.

There are no two more deserving individuals for the spot than The Boss and The Queen. It is expected that Sasha Banks will defeat Charlotte to end their feud. Perhaps later on in her title run, she can finally turn heel, a role she has proven to excel in.
