Shane McMahon attacked Kevin Owens before he even got inside the ring, starting the match outside the cage. The two traded punches before Shane took a big risk by jumping off the barricade and onto KO. The match finally returned inside the cage and the official locked the doors to the cell.

KO bounced McMahon around from one wall of the cell to the another taunting Shane in front of his children who were sitting in the front row. The two returned to the ring and KO assumed control of the match, barely allowing Shane to get up. He followed up his offence with a senton before sending him into the corner, setting him up for a cannonball which he executes to perfection.

Owens went up to the top rope and attempted a frog splash on a downed Shane McMahon but McMahon Jr. put his knees up at the last second. Shane took control now, hitting KO with a devastating DDT. Shane-o-Mac went to the top rope for a Shooting Star Press but fell flat on his face after KO moves out of the way; following up with another frog splash.

Shane almost got caught in a pop-up powerbomb from KO but reversed it into a triangle lock. The action proceeded ringside as Shane went for another triangle lock but this time KO managed to lift him and powerbomb him onto the steel steps.

KO proceeded to manhandle Shane-o-Mac before the audience chanted, calling for a table and KO went on to take out a table out from under the ring, setting up for a cannonball to the outside from the apron and onto the table where Shane was lying. McMhahon Jr. managed to get out of the way sending KO crashing into the table.

Shane-o-Mac took advantage of the situation with a signature Coast to Coast on KO with the aid of a trashcan. Failing to get a pinfall due to a rope break which was confusing since its a no disqualifications match.

Shane found some bolt cutters and managed to break his way open to the outside of the cell. Owens cleared up the announce table and attempted to set up Shane onto it before deciding to go up to the top of the cage. KO wasted too much time on the top of the cell as Shane climbed up himself. The two traded one vicious move after the other before KO tried to throw him off the cell and failed.

We feel the cage was supposed to cave in as a result of the impact but for some reason, it didn't. A possible botch that changed the course of the match.

KO then proceeded to climb down the cell but Shane caught up to him midway and threw him onto the announce table.

Shane lifted KO onto the other table immediately after and climbed up to the top again attempting an elbow drop onto the table. To the surprise of Shane and the audience, Sami Zayn appeared and pulled KO out of the way before Shane landed on it. Sami dragged a spent KO onto a completely devastated Shane McMahon and forced the official to count to three, therefore costing Shane the match.
