Should Kofi Kingston challenge Daniel Bryan for The WWE Championship at WrestleMania?

Heading into Elimination Chamber, it seems that we've got the RAW Women's and WWE Universal Championship title matches set, but the challenger for Daniel Bryan was up in the air.

After Smackdown Live, that should now be decided. With the current state of Bryan and his crusade to preach eco-friendly, anti-consumerism lifestyles, it's been hard to pinpoint a babyface to combat that, but The New Day's Kofi Kingston is perfect for the spot.

The trio, consisting of Big E and Xavier Woods alongside Kofi Kingston is all about consumerism and consumption, and after 11 years working hard in the WWE, it's time for the veteran to make his mark on the company.

He came close during a hot run in 2009, but since that, he's been nothing but a tag team specialist and Royal Rumble highlight machine, but after expressing frustrations against AJ Styles in the gauntlet match, it's time to unleash him.

On this past episode of Smackdown Live, Kingston lasted over an hour in a gauntlet match, eliminating the WWE Champion himself, in addition to Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe, and in the process, made himself look like a major star.

He's always been a great performer, but with The New Day, it seems they've never been focused on anything but their bright clothes, having fun and tag team gold, but the WWE could channel his talent into a major run here.

A year ago, Seth Rollins did the same thing heading into Elimination Chamber, and it made him look like a star, and if the WWE is smart, they'll get behind Kofi after this recent performance.

Many people have assumed that Big E would be the man to break out from The New Day, but with Woods and E behind him, Kofi should finally get the run he deserves at the top. Most people would expect someone like Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt or Mustafa Ali to get this spot, but with the recent performance, WWE needs to change their plans, if they had any.

Back at WrestleMania XX, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit both held aloft their World Championships after so many frustrating years chasing their goals, and it was an amazing moment, one that Kofi could recreate in 2019.

Sure, he hasn't had the world-class career that either of those two had, but he's always been a talented performer and he's been loyal to the WWE, so this is a way they should reward him.

This match won't be the main event, so the WWE can get behind Kofi without drawing the ire of the WWE Universe who don't see Kofi as a true main event player, but it's time to pull the trigger. He may not get the greatest run at the top, or even defeat Daniel Bryan for the title, but right now, Kofi is the best opponent for Daniel Bryan and the WWE Championship at WresteMania.

So what do you guys think? Is Kofi a worthy adversary for Daniel Bryan? Does this story make the most sense to you? If not Kingston, who should challenge Bryan on the 'Grandest Stage of Them All'? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments section below.
