What’s the story?

Our sources have learned that Chelsea footballer John Terry is to make an appearance on tonight’s (5/9/17) episode of SmackDown Live, which will take place in London. Along with him, the club’s goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is also expected to be with him.

In case you didn’t know...

John Terry is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of his generation. He presently captains Premier League club, Chelsea, besides having captained the England national team from August 2006 to February 2010, and later from March 2011 to February 2012.

The heart of the matter

The famous British centre-back, who is known for his aerial skills and led his side to numerous trophies, will likely feature on WWE’s blue brand tonight, with tonight’s episode of SmackDown airing from the O2 Arena in London, England.

The 36-year-old is no stranger to the WWE, having met several WWE Superstars at a WWE live event in the UK last year, posing for photographs alongside his family and a few WWE performers.

Not that the WWE is lacking any star-power, but I’d be lying if I said that it isn’t nice to have the occasional celebrity appear at WWE events.

As far as free publicity and brand promotion goes, both parties – the WWE and John Terry – benefit from his on-screen appearance at SmackDown Live nonetheless. The amount of press that this rumoured appearance will garner for WWE, particularly in the UK, would be What’s Best For Business!
