Our sources say that Drew McIntyre’s new WWE contract is a multi-year, main roster deal.
In case you didn’t know...
Drew McIntyre (Andrew McLean Galloway IV) was previously under contract with WWE since his first appearance for the company back in 2006, after which he received a promotional push by Vince McMahon himself in 2009.
McIntyre went on to win the WWE Intercontinental title but faded away from the company after his 3MB gimmick (2012-14), following which he re-invented himself in Impact Wrestling where he was the TNA Heavyweight and Impact Grand champion.
The heart of the matter
The 31-year old Scotsman was initially said to have signed a one-year NXT deal after his appearance at NXT Takeover: Orlando, making his in-ring return to WWE by defeating Oney Lorcan on the April 12th episode of NXT.
Nevertheless, our sources have confirmed that McIntyre’s new WWE deal is akin to that of a main roster performer, and contrary to previous reports, will be valid for more than a year.

Mr McMahon’s Chosen One is reportedly looking to reintroduce himself to the WWE Universe and hence, has chosen the NXT brand to tell the audience his story in a controlled environment.
The 16-year pro-wrestling veteran is said to be extremely pleased with his new WWE entrance music and feels that the WWE’s faith and this opportunity given to him, is what his family needs and all he ever wanted. McIntyre is poised to help further the WWE’s influence in the United Kingdom.
What’s next?
After making a victorious debut in NXT, McIntyre will most likely be booked well in the weeks to come en-route to a shot at the NXT championship in the near future. Besides, look for the young Scotsman to be slowly re-inserted into the WWE’s main shows, on RAW or SmackDown, after he runs through the NXT roster.

Drew McIntyre is one of the most talented performers in the professional wrestling industry today, and the WWE’s past bookings of him, the 3MB storyline in particular, really buried him to the extent of making him a low-level jobber.
Regardless, he has re-established himself outside the WWE since his departure in 2014 and now looks to rebuild his image as Drew McIntyre, aiming to remind the WWE Universe what he’s really capable of. Chosen One 2.0…anybody?
