WrestleMania 34 was full of surprises with Brock Lesnar retaining the title, Braun Strowman teaming with a child to win the Raw Tag Team Titles and perhaps most shockingly of all, Charlotte beating Asuka clean in the ring to end 'The Empress of Tomorrow's' legendary undefeated streak.

Not many people had Asuka losing the streak as a prediction for this year's WrestleMania with many believing that Carmella would be used as a sacrificial lamb to preserve both Charlotte and Asuka going forward.

Instead Asuka and Charlotte had a great match with a clean finish when Charlotte hit Asuka with an elevated Figure Four Leg Lock, forcing the winner of the first ever Women's Royal Rumble to tap out in the middle of the ring.

It sure seems that WrestleMania in New Orleans is bad for anything with a streak, but is there another reason WWE made the decision to end Asuka's streak right now at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All'?

Well, WrestleMania 34 may just have finished but people are already looking towards WrestleMania 35 and suggesting that Charlotte ending the streak is building towards a huge match at next year's 'Showcase of the Immortals.'

As you can see, PWStream are suggesting that Charlotte ended Asuka's streak because she needs to look strong heading into the rest of 2018 and the start of 2019. This is all allegedly so that the WWE can build up a huge match between Ronda Rousey, who also had a great WrestleMania, and Charlotte Flair as the headline match of WrestleMania 35.

Slice Wrestling, a Twitter based wrestling rumor reporter, has also suggested that this is the direction WWE wants to go in, but has hinted that they might go for a Triple Threat with Rousey, Charlotte and Asuka as well.

If this were to happen, it would indeed be a history-making moment, and following the events of WrestleMania 34, especially with Ronda Rousey absolutely killing it on her debut, it looks more likely now than ever that the women will main event next year's WrestleMania.
