SK's Take on Roman Reigns winning the Universal Championship at The Greatest Royal Rumble 

WrestleMania 34 was three years in the making and many of the WWE Universe were convinced that this was Roman Reigns' moment to finally defeat Brock Lesnar and become the face of WWE. This obviously didn't happen and despite losing the match, Reigns has now been able to secure a rematch against The Beast this Friday night at The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

Rumors over the past few weeks have suggested that the end of The Universal Championship match at WrestleMania was changed at the last minute because of the crowd reaction to Reigns and that the company decided Saudi Arabia would be the perfect place for him to be crowned Champion because it's a country that has always backed The Big Dog.

The Greatest Royal Rumble is now just five days away and it seems that Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer has brought up an interesting point when it comes to whether or not Reigns will be walking out with the title. (transcript via Ringsidenews)

“I’m getting more and more skeptical with every passing day that Roman’s actually going to beat this guy at the Greatest Royal Rumble. I think Brock’s going to retain the title. That’s my thought right now. I mean think about this also, the show’s airing on a Friday. It’s on a Friday at noon. Like nobody’s going to be watching it live. I mean people work, right? To the best of my knowledge they do.”

The Greatest Royal Rumble is being broadcast from 4 pm in the United Kingdom, which means that the kickoff show will be at 11 am in the United States. On a Friday afternoon, this could cause a few issues for members of the WWE Universe who will be working that day.

“I mean it’s a Friday afternoon. Nobody’s taking Friday afternoon off to watch the Greatest Royal Rumble — it’s five-hours long, you ain’t watching it at work […] So the point of this is if you’re going to do the coronation of Roman Reigns, you’ve been waiting four years. You’re going to do it on the WWE Network on a Friday at afternoon or noon eastern or whatever? I’m very skeptical. I’m starting to think he’s not going to win.

Whilst Alvarez makes a good point, it could be argued that Reigns match against Lesnar will be one of the last matches on the card and broadcast towards the end of the show which will be late afternoon for American's so it would be possible for many fans to tune in at the end and watch the Royal Rumble and Reigns match with Lesnar.

This is a rematch that Reigns should never have had and there is no challenger for Lesnar moving forward, which means that logically Reigns winning does look like the safe bet. Add to that the fact that Reigns will get the reaction from the crowd that Vince McMahon wanted at WrestleMania and it would seem that he would be the best option on the night, but this is WWE.

There could be a swerve once again and Lesnar could be set to defend his Championship one more time before he heads over to UFC. Even though this match is seen as one of the most predictable on the card, nothing is ever certain in WWE and this kind of speculation will only add to the excitement of the already sold out show this Friday night.
