WrestleMania 34 was a heck of a show but one of its more controversial moments happened in the main event when Brock Lesnar retained the WWE Universal Title against Roman Reigns in a brutal match that was supposed to see the three-year coronation of Reigns finally happen at WrestleMania.

One of the bigger talking points for the match was the fact that Reigns kicked out of the F-5 as expected, given that the move had been built-up as strong over the last couple of years, but he then kicked out of five more subsequent F-5's which was a little bit much, even for Roman Reigns.

Nevertheless, all of those kick outs were for nothing as Lesnar busted Reigns' head open with some unprotected stiff elbow shows and finally put 'The Big Dog' away to leave WrestleMania during its closing moments as still the WWE Universal Champion?

This was a shock, to say the least, but why did the WWE make the decision to keep the title on Lesnar. It's an especially shocking decision when you consider that Lesnar's contract with the WWE ran-out yesterday, on the day of 'Mania, and that it was widely expected he would leave and go back to UFC.

Well, it could all be to do with last-minute contract negotiations that were taking place between Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon on the day of WrestleMania, as Twitter-based wrestling scoopster Slice Wrestling reports.

The important part of the above report is the suggestion that Brock might ask for certain conditions to be met in order for him to commit to staying with the WWE. This is important because Lesnar's 'conditions' may have been the cause for WWE and Vince McMahon to deviate from the original plan to crown Roman at 'Mania and instead put the title on Brock Lesnar. Slice Wrestling went on to further report that this was indeed the case.

If this is indeed the case, it would not only mean that Brock Lesnar is here to stay in the WWE for the foreseeable future, but also that he's likely to be hanging onto that WWE Universal Title for quite some time. Which will undoubtedly be bad news for the many who think Lesnar's time as champion has run its course.
