Stone Cold Steve Austin reacts to CM Punk signing with UFC

CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin

CM Punk grabbed the headlines last weekend after he decided to join the UFC, putting an end to any speculation of a WWE return. The move came after revealing his reasons behind his WWE exit during a controversial Colt Cabana’s podcast show.

The former WWE superstar shared his side of the story with the WWE universe and had a lot to say about the officials of the company including chairman Vince McMahon. Vince responded to Punk’s comments with an apology on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast which aired on the WWE Network.

A few days later after the Austin-Vince segment, Punk announced his move to the UFC, although the details of his debut are unknown. With that being said, during Austin’s last show, the Texas Rattlesnake gave his thoughts on CM Punk signing with UFC.

He said,

“I think he rolls with some [MMA] guys and it’s a very big passion of his. I wish him all the luck in the world, and I know they’ll do a helluva big buyrate… Match him up with someone his skill level … it’s hard to gauge what his skill level is though. I talked about maybe bridging the gap with CM Punk and Vince, and then he goes and does the deal with UFC. It would appear to me that they’re way further apart than I thought they were. I knew things were bad and I hadn’t talked to CM Punk, so it’s going to be interesting.”

Steve Austin appears to be in good terms with the former WWE Superstar Punk and wishes him the best. Steve, like he said tried to bridge the gap between Punk and McMahon but then he joined UFC. Now that CM Punk has left for UFC, his fans can wish the best for him and his career.
